Strawberries in February!

February 15th, 2011

Are you sick of eating cabbage and squash? I know these things can be delicious (yum sauerkraut) but eating locally in Worcester in the winter is rough. Luckily, the Artichoke has grape tomatoes, rainbow carrots, green peppers, lettuce, and strawberries via Heaven’s Harvest. It’s not local but the produce is organic and comes from a great network of farms in southern states. Other things we have in this week, oregano, dried apricots, Daiya vegan cheese, quinoa, millet, salsa, and canned dog food!

Want to chip in and help the Artichoke continue to bring you healthy food? There is an annual meeting planning party this Thursday. We’ll be planning for this fun event and drinking whiskey and/or tea. Join us! And if you can keep an eye out for the date of the annual meeting.

Produce UPDATE!

November 23rd, 2010

Back by popular demand at Artichoke, Express Boxes!

Express boxes are weekly bundles of organic produce, boxed and ready for you to take home. The produce will be sourced from local and not-so-local farms, depending on the season. They will contain a wide variety of things from bananas to broccoli. They come in two sizes; a small is just $10 per week and a large is only $20. The specific items in your Express Box will vary from week to week.

While we still support CSAs, what makes getting an Express Box different from getting the CSA?
1. Instead of having to sign up for the entirety of the season, you can pick and choose which months you’d like to get your produce from us.
2. Express Boxes make a little money for the coop, unlike the CSA.
3. By having you pre-order express boxes, it enables us to also carry a variety of produce in the store as well!

Contact Liz at sheehan.liz@gmail.com to sign up for yours today!

Update: Express Boxes have been delayed from when we thought they’d be starting but will be starting soon.
