Our mission at the Artichoke Co-op is to serve a long term interest in a healthier environment and a more just society, while meeting practical needs for access to healthy, inexpensive food. To achieve this goal we strive to sell local, organic, and minimally packaged products, where possible. By doing this we hope to strengthen the local economy, support local farmers and make healthy food accessible. See our Food page for more about what we carry.

We are a cooperatively run store that operates to provide goods, not to make a profit. All of the money we make goes back into the co-op. Every member is a part owner in the co-op, receives a discount in store and can order directly from our suppliers. Our consensus-based decision making happens at our general meetings where all members are welcome. The store is run completely by members.
